In June 2023, for my son's wedding, S&R decorators were chosen for decorations. They used Jodha Akbar type Mandap for the wedding stage and it was a grand success. Planning and hosting an Indian wedding anywhere can be a overwhelming and hugely stressful undertaking. Even more so, for people like us who are new to the Boston neighborhood. Décor associated with our daughter’s traditional Indian wedding is one among many of the challenges we faced. One of our friends referred us to S&R decorators and we must say we were really fortunate for having found S&R decorators led by Sandhya Bommaraju. 

At our very 1st interaction, Sandhya and Jagadish made us feel at ease with their professional presentation, options, relevant knowledge of items associated with traditional Indian weddings and passion to go the extra-mile to make the customers (parents and the couple) feel special. Sandhya and her team planned and executed the decorations end-to-end for all the wedding associated events from Mehendi to reception (spread over 2 different venues) in May 2024. 

Once they have the contract Sandhya and her team have become an integral part of our family. They engaged the bride and the groom to understand their preferences for colors, themes, patterns, etc. We were very pleased with Sandhya and her team for their flexibility, collaborative working style, willingness to put in the long hours, impeccable attention to detail, and operational efficiency. 

Considering the relatively low height of the ceiling at the wedding venue, Sandhya even purchased a brand-new mandap (Jodha Akbar style) for our daughter’s wedding. Sandhya Ji was always very responsive, did a great job in planning and executing, and her experience in conducting ceremonies was of invaluable help to us since she suggested many ideas that we definitely missed.

Add onto that, the mandap itself was beautifully designed and completed before time. We also availed her network of people for other ceremonies (like mehendi) and they all turned out to be great as well.

The availability of props and chairs (which were a godsend since neither us nor our parents had to sit on the floor during the event) was huge.

The decorations for our Shashtiyaptha Poorthi were very nice - we received lots of compliments for the decor. The company was very accommodating to the price range and left the entire decoration style open to us. A multitude of color options, styles, and flower decorations were available to choose from. Additionally, we requested a specific deity photo for the background, one that is not common, and the company was very willing to work with vendors in India to receive a photo and customize a poster for us. The decorations were also completed the night before event, which made planning easy! A 10/10 experience and strongly recommend to others!
